The most beautiful part of our whole body is the eyes through which we perceive beauty of nature and everyone around. It is these eyes which helps us to accomplish any task. Sadly, Many of us do not take care of this very sensitive organ and later suffer from different problems.  These problems can evolve because of aging, strain or some other reasons. Here is a list of 10 common eyes problems.

1. Shortsightedness and Farsightedness.

Popularly known as Myopia and Hypermetropia, these two problems are fairly common problems of teenagers and youth.  A myopic person has clear vision when looking at objects close to them, but distant objects will appear blurred. On the other hand,  a hypermetropic person may have blurred vision when looking at objects close to them, and clearer vision when looking at objects in the distance. These problems can be corrected by using suitable convex and concave lenses.

2. Tearing.

On the contrary to dry eyes, watery eyes is also a common eye problem. Though tearing is a common function of eye which helps to wash away the foreign products in it, excessive tearing calls for medication. Tear over-secretion is generally caused by inflammation of the surface of the eye because of a number of reasons, including eyelash and eyelid problems or allergies. Watery eyes can often be treated very simply, with eye drops or warm compresses.

3. Dry eyes.

Dry eyes also are described by the medical term, “keratitis sicca” , which generally means decreased quality or quantity of tears. This happens when tear glands cannot make enough tears or produce poor quality tears. Persistent dryness, scratchiness, red eyes and a burning sensation are common symptoms of dry eyes. General medication includes eye drops and lubricant which initiates tears. In case the problem is environmental, sunglasses can be also preferred.

4. Conjunctivitis.

Most known by pink eye, this vision problem can occur to people of any age be it a school going children, an adolescent, or aged people. What happen is that the thin covering on the white part of eye gets inflammated. Without any surprise: the primary symptom of pink eye is an eye that has a pink appearance. Since it is communicable in nature, the person suffering must not share his personal items like towels or tissues.

5.  Eyelid problems.

Eyelids are quite crucial to the health of the underlying eye. They provide coverage of the cornea and help in the distribution and elimination of tears. Pain, itching and tearing are some common symptoms of eyelid problems. Other problems may include drooping eyelids,blepharaitis, chalazion, stye ( inflamed outer edges of the eyelids near the eyelashes). Eyelid problems often can be treated with proper cleaning, medication, or surgery.
